Let us share a little bit about Forerunner Counseling and Lead Cousnselor Damalie Namalie.....

ABOUT FORERUNNER COUNSELING

Forerunner Counseling is a Christian counseling organization that facilitates restoration and healing for individuals, couples, and families. We are currently affiliated with Tri-State Christian Counseling and collaborate closely to help our clients.

We are committed to Christian values and practices, but also respect and use other practices when necessary.

We work to strengthen, restore, and bring healing to relationships. Our services include marital counseling, individual counseling, anger management, pre-marital counseling, anxiety, depression, teenage challenges, and Christian discipleship. We are  affiliated with Elijah House, Kairos Life Counseling, and the Life Guidance Center.

ABOUT LEAD COUNSELOR DAMALIE NAMALE, M.A.,CPC

Writing about yourself is probably one of the most difficult things one can do.  Wouldn't you agree? Well, here is my attempt at it. Despite the fact that I didn’t even know how to be relational, I’ve always had a desire to help people, but I had no clue how to bridge a career with my passion and desire.

I went to college like most people and I obtained a degree in...tourism! I figured that it would put me in a position to help people from all over the world. In a way it did, but I wasn't fully prepared to make an impact in people's lives in a meaningful way.

This provoked me to pursue further education and as a  result, I graduated from Cornerstone University with a Masters of Arts in Clinical Christian Counseling. I have also been Board Certified with the NCCA (National Christian Counselor's Association) in several specialties, such as Child & Adolescent Therapy, Cognitive Therapy and Ethics, Crisis & Abuse Therapy, and Death & Grief Therapy.

In addition, I am a Certified Temperament Counselor, Certified Professional Coach and a Certified Facilitator of the Elijah House program. I worked as a counselor with the Life Guidance Center at Calvary Temple International before I  started a private practice in which I have been privileged to help many people who are struggling with the diverse challenges of life.

As much as I help others, I have personally experienced and still experience life's challenges just like everyone else in this world.  After graduating from college, I became really sick and almost died.  Doctors didn't know what to do for me and I was at the end of my rope. I was frustrated and confused, but in the midst of these feelings, I realized that God is able to intervene in any situation, no matter how impossible it may seem. After a while, my focus shifted from frustration to hope; even though I didn’t see a way out.

Through that difficult time, I gained a lot of insight and wisdom into the purpose of life. I also learned how to allow others to support and walk alongside me. I can confidently say that through those experiences I've not only learned to overcome life's difficulties, but I've also learned how to help others.

This is what I desire to share with those who are hurting and brokenhearted.

My passion and purpose:

• To bring you to a healthy understanding of who God is in your everyday life

• To help your interpersonal relationships become healthy and whole

What are you waiting for? Allow me to help you get started on this journey!
